To ensure smooth passenger services during the National Day holiday on September 2, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has instructed airlines to closely monitor booking and ticket sales so they can promptly adjust flight schedules and add services on high-demand routes, particularly those to/from Hanoi in the days before and after the holiday.

Airlines should proactively coordinate with local authorities and tourism businesses to roll out promotional programs and air-travel packages tied to political and cultural events. This aims to diversify choices for passengers and stimulate travel and transportation demand during the holiday period.

Airlines need to notify airports and aviation service providers early about additional flight schedules so that sufficient resources can be arranged in advance. They must also promptly publish full information on flight schedules and increased services through mass media and digital communication platforms.

They need to instruct all departments and employees to strictly comply with aviation safety and security regulations, and maintain a professional, courteous, and attentive attitude toward passengers.

Airlines must also strictly follow regulations on domestic airfares, selling tickets within the government's price framework and their own pricing policies, and tightly monitor ticket agents to prevent overcharging.

Furthermore, passenger support must be strengthened, especially at check-in counters and self-service kiosks, with encouragement for travelers to complete procedures online. Authorized staff should be on hand to promptly handle complaints and ensure carriers fully meet their obligations in cases of long delays or cancellations, while minimizing technical-related groundings and disruptions caused by the airlines themselves.

Protecting passenger rights during the Septemper 2 holiday

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam and Van Don International Airport are requested to review and supplement their personnel, vehicles, and equipment for firefighting and emergencies. They are also required to increase inspections of runways and aprons, and have plans in place to ensure timely incident response.

Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports have been instructed to deploy additional staff, expedite security screening and baggage handling, and prevent congestion. Non-aviation services and signage systems will also be strictly monitored for quality and pricing.

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is tasked with ensuring smooth flight operations and minimizing congestion at major airports, while maintaining standby forces and closely monitoring equipment and technical infrastructure.

The entire sector is required to maintain service quality and safeguard passenger rights throughout the holiday.

From Aug. 14 through Sept. 2, flight operations at Noi Bai will be highly active, with multiple service models in place. Airport Director To Tu Ha said the entire system is fully prepared with flexible contingency plans to address any situation, emphasizing that every staff member takes pride in contributing to the success of the National Day celebrations.
